After a year and a half of being stuck inside our homes as a result of strict covid restrictions, many of us are eager to get out and do things once again. That’s why we’ve put together this handy list of upcoming events in Bolton with something for everyone!


FREE Co-op Academy Walkden Open Evening – 30 September

If your children are approaching the end of their primary school years, now is the time to start looking at secondary schools. This open day is a chance for children and their families to visit Co-op Academy Walkden, take a look around and speak with teachers. Email to reserve a lot. 

FREE Community Wellbeing Day  – 6 October

This event is held by women-led organisations who invite you to explore career pathways in holistic health, access talks, tasters and treatments, be inspired by women entrepreneurs making a difference and find out about courses and opportunities to make progress in your health, wealth and happiness.

FREE Zero Carbon Tour – 8 October 

2:00pm – 6:00 pm

RHS Garden Bridgewater

The Zero Carbon Tour is headed to Greater Manchester as they make their way through the UK r, sharing the net zero message with the business community. Join them as they discuss the concept of net zero carbon and why it is critical for businesses. 

Hear Carbon Stories from like-minded local people, organisations and community groups and the impactful projects they are undertaking to reduce their carbon emissions. You’ll also be able to see the UK’s first 100% electric coach, affectionately named the ‘Carbon Battle Bus’. Register here.

£85 – £95 A Year in your Gardening Club – 13 October 

09:45am – 4:00pm

Learn basic horticultural skills and find out about safety aspects and practical considerations needed to set up and run a successful gardening club.

This course will help you to:

  • Set up and run a sustainable gardening club.
  • Plan a full programme of fun, creative indoor and outdoor activities, week in, week out throughout the year.
  • Learn basic skills of soil preparation, sowing, plant establishment and maintenance to support your club activities.

Skill Level: Beginner

Suitable for Key Stage: 1 and 2

£66 – £210 Good Florist Event #3 – 16 October – 17 October

This event is designed to help florists gather new ideas for making money as well as meeting like minded businesses who share the same goals. The Good Florist Event is open to everyone and is a fun filled weekend (or just the Sunday) for like-minded florists.
